Linda Harelick, DrPH

Linda Harelick, DrPH, is Director of Operations and Communications at ChildObesity180. She has significant and senior level, multi sector experience having worked in several of the key sectors that are part of ChildObesity180. She has nearly 25 years of professional experience. She spent 17 years at Kraft Foods overseeing strategic planning and marketing for iconic brands such as Maxwell House Coffee and Post Cereal. She attained the position of Senior Vice President of Consumer Services where she strengthened Kraft's ability to connect and deepen relationships with consumers. Upon leaving Kraft Foods in 2008, she returned to academia to attain a doctorate in public health policy and management. She completed an internship in the area of preconception health assessing knowledge and behaviors among low socioeconomic women. Her dissertation focused on disparities in oral health outcomes and issues of access to dental services. While completing her degree, she served as the associate project director of a regional health planning initiative.
Dr. Harelick's interest in public health stems from her early career as a registered dietitian. She practiced in the clinical and research settings at Massachusetts General Hospital and later at Brigham & Women's Hospital. While at Brigham & Women's Hospital, she worked on The Modification of Diet in Renal Disease Study as a senior research dietitian.
Dr. Harelick received a bachelor of science degree in nutrition from Syracuse University, a master of science degree in dietetics from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, a master of business administration degree from Columbia Business School, and a doctorate in public health from New York Medical College.
